AMERICAN TABOOS

By Murray Shallow

In the United States, you can stand on a street corner and scream  “Our leader is a
bum”, and usually little happens. Try this in North Korea, and you’ll be immediately
shot. In the United States, you can be a corrupt politician who’s outed, and all that
happens is you resign, do a few years in a country club prison, and write a book or
cash in. Try this in China, and you’re looking at a gulag or firing squad. Clearly laws
vary from country to country, which makes it hard for many of us to take the concept
of “Law” very seriously.

TABOOS you must avoid. Remember most of them aren’t based on any logic or
justice. Rather, they’re based in political realities.

their hands. Uncle Sam, perhaps the world's biggest sucker, welcomes them with
open arms
